Waddle Waddle

From whence does the psychology of wallowing in one’s misery originate? Why does one man so persistently choose to waddle in the deep dark murky depths of human emotion, only to fall and fall again? I am reminded of a theory I once heard that there are those who choose to explore the negative aspect of life to the fullest, only to slingshot themselves into a positive vibration later on, much more rapidly than the rest who thread the safe path. If this be true, I sincerely hope that the slingshot effect comes soon for a dearest friend of mine, who has gone through more than I can any longer bear to watch.

We live in an Urban jungle and that’s not fresh news anymore. In fact, we’ve grown so accustomed to the term that its original essence and primary message no longer hits home as hard (as it should) as it used to. These series of works attempts to portray the stark contrast and irony between Man’s innermost desire for freedom and the actuality of the harsh environment that he finds himself overwhelmed by- boxed in by concrete walls and bombarded with sore sights of rusty pipings and meaningless graffiti.

Naoya Hatekeyama once said: “Nature is already so distant from us that you might say it has become a fantasy.” If it has indeed become a fantasy then all we have at the end of the day is another item to add to our long list of fantasies that we yearn for with our hearts in the dead of the night but betray with our words and actions once the sun rises- The Return to Nature.

The Return to Nature can be simplified psychologically as Mankind’s collective yearning to return to simplicity. To forsake all progress made (for we’ve come so far, we’ve forgotten what the original goal was in the first place.) and give up the eternal search, for freedom of the Soul from the chains of industry.

But it is not the return to Nature which will embrace us with the inner peace we so desire. Rather, it is the integration with, and the balancing of, the source of our origins and the state of technological advancement and intellectual superiority we have achieved, that will reconcile our hearts with our minds. In this sense, these series of works can be viewed as the search for divine harmony between two polar opposites instead of ironic portrayals that spite the plight we’ve landed ourselves in.

Man is wise and constantly in quest of more wisdom; but the ultimate wisdom, which deals with beginnings, remains locked in a seed. There it lies, the simplest fact of the universe and at the same time the one which calls forth faith rather than reason.” — Hal Borland.

Teaching Spirituality: Duties and Responsibilities.

As Spiritual teachers, we have a responsibility to practice what we preach, not only because we’d be terrible hypocrites who deserve to be yelled at and stoned if we didn’t, but because there is no other path of going about enlightening others and easing their pains except through having experienced the same pains ourselves.

We observe, calm and centered, detached from the emotional turmoil as we device methods of releasing it. It is these methods that we come to teach others of. We watch ourselves and our thoughts all the time, for the sole purpose of finding out the nature of the various burdens of common man, so as to come up with an antidote for it. We record through various techniques, the process and progress of its release, determining what strengthens it and what weakens its grip on our lives. We’re spiritual teachers because we’re researchers of the spirit, not because we read some book on spirituality and are now ready to disseminate the same information regurgitated in a different form.

Take some pride in what you do and acknowledge who you are even if man may mock it, for your knowledge helps the very mocking same, in times when they’ve lost the way.

If there’re seekers, there will be teachers and the very same seekers, if gifted with the gifts of research, will in turn become the wise sage him/herself when they’ve learnt enough to acquire the title. This title is not something bestowed by another upon you, but its an entitlement you shall receive and when will be whispered by the lips of God to you.

Rectify the Oversight.

Rectify the Oversight, Incantation on a Saturday night.

Rectify the Oversight, bloom Virgo, blessed Martian pride.

I recognize the presence of the art of existence but yet am unable (currently) to ascribe words to it. So soft and subtly, transforming through the bombardment of variety whilst at all times fortified by will; the form that I am. That which is abstract prides itself in unseen messages whilst the illiterate anger their souls on the disintegration of communication. To each his own but easier said when elusive mystery asks not of philosophy’s embrace.

Patterns.

It’s not a fundamental particle or point, it’s the fundamental pattern derived from the points. That’s creation. Relationships and Stories, that’s creation.

“The universe is made of stories, not atoms.”Muriel Rukeyser

We’re not speaking from a scientific point of view here but from a metaphorical point of view. It’s not the gun that kills and it’s not the bullet either; It is the first idea, the first man who entertained it, the first man to make it, the manufacturer, the supplier, the influences, the man holding the gun, the victim, the materials involved- it is all of the set, the setting, the characters involved in the plot, the play, the props, it’s all of it, that kills. This is the understanding of Reciprocity when expressed in a more ‘poetic’ sense. For contemplative geometry please refer to the previous post on ‘Reciprocal numerical system.’

“It takes a thousand voices to tell a single story.”Native American Saying.

But we understand at the same time that patterns can only be uncovered after the points have been found. So as we contemplate this, it is easy to come to the understanding that nothing is exclusive of another in reality and that there is no right or wrong path. There is a fractal division into infinity in the All-Mind which leads to observatory relations between each ‘centre of understanding’. - There is only the path itself, the boundaries of which are defined by us. Exploration and experience leads to relational understanding of the patterns and points which better equips us with the knowledge of creation.

So if you ask me how this contemplation has aided me, well, it’s illuminated to me beyond any shadow of a doubt that we’re all in this together. You and I and everyone else in the world, just like points, and the relationships we choose to form creating stories that will create our world for posterity. Let’s tell a beautiful one, one far more magical than our current one. One far more enchanting and healing, kinder and more forgiving than our current story, shall we?

“There is a dream dreaming us.”Saying of the aboriginal San of the Kalahari Desert, cited by Robert Wolff, author of Original Wisdom.

“Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today.”— Robert McKee

Keep Dreaming.

Keep dreaming, don’t worry about the resources you need to achieve your dreams. You’ve got it all wrong if you think you first need the resources to be available in order to dream your finest dream for yourself.

Keep dreaming and you’ll turn into such a finely tuned resourceful piece of machinery that you’ll astound even yourself. I can say this because I’ve dreamt it. I can say this because I’ve seen for myself and tried out the very techniques I’m telling you about right now. Keep dreaming. Dream your finest dream and the path will illuminate itself. This is not to say that the path to your dreams require only for you to consciously think about it, it requires effort on your part as well of course and not just some mediocre effort but a substantial amount of it. What did you expect to pay in exchange to live the life of your dreams?

What I’m saying here is that a lack of resources should never prevent you from dreaming. Because it is the act of dreaming and believing wholeheartedly in your dreams and yourself in the first place, that brings about and ‘attracts’ that which you need, to you. Fire it up, there’s no better time than now to get started. You’ll waver, you’ll lose sight, you’ll fall, but you’ll never get there without the challenges and trials.

“Trust thyself; Every heart vibrates to that iron string.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Pardon the repetitive mention about dreaming, that really was the point in the first place.

So…

KEEP DREAMING.

Dialogue.

The dialogue with the self is something that must always be consistently happening. It is one of the most crucial pre-requisites for spiritual growth and it just helps a lot if you intend to write a lot or use writing as one of the main forms of your expression. What is the dialogue with the self in the first place? It is the inner conversation that takes place between the different and varying facets of your consciousness.

This dialogue with the self keeps things in perspective and allows for healthy debates to run in the background whilst you’re experiencing creation. It is the thinker’s most potent weapon of choice, the bullet for the gun. It allows for spontaneous writing and eliminates a major portion of the editing that a lot of writers do to their writings. The benefits are not only for writers mind you but extend to anyone and everyone on the surface of this earth who is self-aware and capable of expression. To be conscious and aware is one thing, but to be able to look within one’s self, now that is the art of the spirit and something that just might be unique to humans.

Choose to be self-aware today and to engage in intimate conversation with your own self. Look within for all the answers to your questions that the mediocre conscious mind is unable to solve. Embrace yourself and let love illuminate your soul. It is then and only then that you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt, which way the true wind blows.

Love.

It is in simplistic simplicity that you will find utter un-rendered beauty- The core of existence. At the very essence of existence is truly just one undeniable rule for the persistence of the illusion of continuity, and that cannot be expressed in any other words in the entire existing english vocabulary other than Love. The term Love itself might imply many different things to many different people but essentially and ultimately, Love is that which allows and creates. Love is the unquestioning, the faithful, the co-operative and the willing. Love is what leads- Love is what ends without ending. There truly is no other way around this.

Love is to forgive. To forgive is to continue. To continue is to explore. To explore is to unravel. To unravel is to integrate. To integrate is to circulate. To circulate is to share. To share is to love. To Love is to forgive.

Brutal Honesty.

It’s alright man, don’t push it away. You’re not alone. We all go through pretty much the same damn thing at one time or another. Everyone hurts. Everyone dies. Everybody’s heart breaks. Every male and female falls in love, with one another, hetero or homosexually. Each and every individual is on the path at all times which helps them grow in the ways they need to. Understand that your preferred mode of learning (which you construct with your conscious mind) is never really going to quite be able to match up to the complex interweaving methods of madness that the Universe is capable of (and does) generate to teach you the lessons you require. I guess the most important thing to remember while going through the “dark night of the soul” would be that you’re not alone in any of this. Embrace your emotions and express yourself truthfully without shame or remorse. Trust in your community and if not then find yourself a community of like minded individuals. No regrets, just brutal honesty. Share and keep sharing. The one thing that makes us human is co-operation through linguistics. Communication. Communion. Never stop sharing. The day you stop sharing is the day death robs you not of your physical existence but of your communion with all things- your communion with God and as a manifestation of Infinite love/light on this Earthly realm.
